A plant teacher
Ayahuasca is a sacred plant medicine prepared in the traditional way. It is not recreational and it is not taken lightly — it is met with intention, fasting, and respect.
Mendocino Coast · California · Native American Tradition
A one-day sacred ayahuasca ceremony on the beach in Mendocino — from afternoon light into the fire of evening, held in the old way, in the Native American tradition.
A day on the coast
This is not a getaway. It is a single, complete day of ceremony held on the sand where the Pacific meets the redwood coast — a place Native peoples have held sacred since long before there were maps.
We gather in the warm light of afternoon, sit together through the work as the sun goes down, and close by fire. You arrive carrying something. The intention is to set part of it down.
The medicine
Ayahuasca is a sacred plant medicine prepared in the traditional way. It is not recreational and it is not taken lightly — it is met with intention, fasting, and respect.
The work unfolds in a held circle on the beach, guided by song and the steady presence of Native American ceremonial leaders and trained facilitators from afternoon into night.
The journey is yours. We make no promises of visions and we do not "fix" anyone. We create the conditions for your own healing to move.
The day · 2:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Gather on the beach. Meet your circle and facilitators, settle the body, and set your intention together as the afternoon light comes in off the water.
Native American ceremonial leaders open the space with prayer and song, calling in the land, the river, and the sea. The medicine is offered.
The heart of the day, carried by icaros and the sound of the waves, from sunset into dusk. You are watched over the entire time — never alone with the work.
We come back together around the fire to ground, share, eat lightly, and gently re-enter the world before you head home or to your lodging.
The place
Dramatic bluffs, dark sand, redwoods at your back and the open Pacific in front of you. We hold ceremony on a quiet stretch of coast in Mendocino, California — wild, protected, and profoundly alive.
Rooted in tradition
Native American peoples have been keepers of the land and waters of California's north coast for thousands of years. This ceremony is offered in that tradition — a tradition of reverence for the living world.
We work in right relationship — honoring the people, the land, and the medicine. A portion of every offering supports Native American cultural and ceremonial programs.
Safety is sacred
Ayahuasca is powerful and is not right for everyone. Our screening exists to protect you — and we will turn away anyone we cannot safely hold.
Every guest completes a health questionnaire reviewed by our medical team. Certain heart conditions and medications (especially SSRIs/MAOIs) require a wash-out period or are contraindicated.
We screen for personal and family history of psychosis and bipolar disorder, and an integration guide is part of every ceremony.
An on-site medic and trained facilitators are present the entire day. You are never alone with the work.
We honor the Native American lineage we work with, never make medical claims, and are transparent about risks at every step.

Questions
The ceremony runs 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Please arrive by 1:45 PM. Plan not to drive immediately after — we recommend staying locally in Mendocino overnight and we can share lodging suggestions.
Ayahuasca is powerful and is not right for everyone. It carries real risks, especially combined with certain medications (SSRIs, MAOIs, stimulants) and with some heart and mental-health conditions. That is why our screening is thorough — and why we may decline applicants. We are always honest with you.
Possibly, but only after a medically supervised tapering and wash-out period — never abruptly, and never without your prescribing doctor. Our team will tell you well in advance what is required.
We ask for a few days of simple eating — no alcohol, recreational drugs, pork, heavy spices, salt, or sugar — and a light or fasted day of ceremony. Full guidance is sent after your spot is confirmed.
Most of our guests haven't. What matters is your readiness and intention. We prepare you beforehand and stay beside you through the entire day.
The full ceremony from 2–9 PM, facilitation and Native American ceremonial leadership, on-site medic, closing fire with tea and light food, and one follow-up integration call. Lodging, travel, and meals outside ceremony are not included.
